BS/MD Programs That Require Casper

The Computer-Based Assessment for Sampling Personal Characteristics, better known as Casper, is a situational judgment test that some BS/MD programs use to evaluate applicants’ ability to handle a tough situation and evaluate their ability to succeed in people-facing careers.

The Casper Test has rolled out significant changes for the 2023-24 admissions cycle. It’s critical for students to prepare and not walk blindly into this test.

When taking the Casper, students will have to tackle 14 sections in total, with both text-based and video-based responses required. The exam takes approximately 90-110 total minutes, which includes the introduction, roughly 80 minutes of questions and two optional breaks.

The following BS/MD programs have a Casper requirement:

  • Hofstra University
  • Drexel University (but only if the student receives an interview)
  • Texas Tech University
  • University of Illinois at Chicago (optional)

The situational judgment test can only be taken one time per cycle, so you want to make sure you are putting your full effort into preparing for the exam.
