Have your efforts in research recognized by submitting an abstract to be presented at Educating Leaders, the premier osteopathic medical education event held April 26 – 28, in Baltimore. Deadline for submissions is October 10.

Direct Medical Program deadlines
While it is common knowledge in the direct medical world that the major deadline to keep in mind is November 1st, it is important to know this is not the earliest deadline. Both the Penn State-Jefferson Accelerated Premedical-Medical program and the University of Pittsburgh’s Guaranteed Admissions program have set their college application deadlines for October 15. Some of these programs with early deadlines also have the highest number of essays across the board.
In fact, applying to BS/MD programs can feel like trying to solve a giant puzzle, with different application requirements, deadlines and interview details for each program. BS/MD Reminder!
This is just a reminder that if the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell 4 + 4 program or Texas Tech University’s Undergraduate to Medical School Initiative program are on your college list, make sure to sign up for the Casper/Altus exam. The first early application deadline for Hofstra is November 15, and you will have some time after this deadline to take the Casper test, but we recommend taking the test in advance and not waiting. This is a situational test designed to test your aptitude as a doctor, to ensure that medicine is a good personal fit for your skill set, through written and video questions. Winning Research
If you are an upperclassmen medical student interested in entering the field of research, it is essential to stay current on the research projects that are turning heads. The American Medical Association released an article on the “winning formula,” an examination of the past winners of their AMA Research Challenge. And although the deadline to submit abstracts for this December’s Challenge, reading the article about past projects can help shape your ideas to submit to the next Challenge in April 2023.

High school students are typically familiar with the Khan Academy resources available, but did you know their resources are not only for high school students?
