Admissions News
Interview Season Is Here!
Moon Prep students are deep into interview prep this month, getting ready for both traditional and MMI interviews for the BS/MD programs they applied to in the fall. So far, our students have secured BS/MD interviews at Penn State, New Jersey Institute of Technology, Drew University, Adelphi University, Rutgers University, The College of New Jersey, St. Bonaventure, Nova Southeastern University (BS/D0), LECOM, and SUNY Upstate.
Did you know? The MMI interview format differs from traditional interviews because they are judging whether you possess the core attributes they are seeking for their medical school through scenario-based questions. In this interview format, students rotate through multiple stations of separate interviews, with more time to prepare for answers than a traditional interview. Thankfully, the Moon Prep counselors know exactly how to prepare you to answer these questions. Schedule a free call with Moon Prep to see how we can help you prepare for both traditional and MMI interviews.
Early Acceptances at Moon Prep
The counselors at Moon Prep continue to receive acceptance notifications from their students’ Early Decision schools. Here are just a few of the early acceptances our students have received so far:
University of Pennsylvania, Harvard University, Yale University, University of Toledo (BS/MD), New York Institute of Technology (BS/DO), Case Western University, University of Pittsburgh, Penn State, New York University, Virginia Commonwealth University, George Mason University, Baylor University, University of Georgia, Georgia Tech, MIT, Duke University, Rutgers University, Temple University, Stony Brook University, Columbia University and Tulane University.
Acceptance Anxiety
As we move even further into “college decision” season, it is important to keep a healthy perspective in mind. Especially when it comes to social media, where students often feel pressured into posting an acceptance reaction video, or when it comes to comparing acceptances with friends. Tulane University released an article covering tips for considering the big picture behind the scenes of the admissions department, to help keep a positive perspective in the next few months. Read their tips here.
Letters of Continued Interest
If you’ve received disappointing news from your top college in the form of a deferral letter, you are not alone. There are a record number of applications this year, and admission to your dream school may take an additional step. Accompanying those dreaded deferral notifications are also requests and deadlines for Letters of Continued Interest. This is the school’s way of asking for an update on what you’ve been up to since you applied, to consider your update along with the Regular Decision pool of applicants.
