What Is The Difference Between the BS/MD and Traditional Admissions Process?
Are you considering a competitive BS MD or direct medical program? It can have its advantages. Students are guaranteed a spot at both undergraduate and medical school when they are still in high school. Many of the programs are accelerated, enabling you to finish one or two years faster than the average medical student.
However, because of these benefits, many high school students flock to these programs. Some BS/MD programs accept just 20 – 30 students out of hundreds of applicants each year.
Because of the competitive nature of these programs, students must start to prepare earlier for their applications than they would for a traditional admissions process.
