As an essay coach at Moon Prep, DJ is committed to helping students navigate the college application process by finding their unique stories and crafting compelling essays that convey the true essence of the applicant. Through in-depth conversations and exercises, DJ will work tirelessly with each student to create personalized narratives based on life experiences and values that define who you are. DJ will be there every step of the way, from big-picture brainstorming to the last word choice that completes a perfect essay.

DJ is currently a third-year student dentist at UCLA School of Dentistry. As a non-traditional dental student with an undergraduate background in journalism, DJ offers a unique and comprehensive perspective on the college admissions process. Combining his storytelling techniques with an extensive knowledge of the medical field application process, DJ believes he can help future student-doctors convey their aspirations in the medical field in a succinct and captivating way.

Prior to dental school, DJ honed his writing and editing skills while working as a daily reporter for publications such as the Chicago Tribune, as well as a copywriter for an ad agency based in Chicago. His editing duties began as early as his second year of college as the editor-in-chief of a quarterly school publication, managing over a dozen student writers and guiding them through the editorial process.
