Bio:
An essay coach with Moon Prep, Chris partners with his students to draw out their individual voices and personal stories into honest and distinctive personal statements. As a longtime academic coach and college adviser, he is motivated by seeing his students succeed and reach their highest potential. With diverse professional experience across teaching, tutoring, mentoring, and proofreading, Chris guides students through the entire writing process, helping them to successfully submit their essays to traditional four-year undergraduate universities with applications that stand out.

Alongside his mentoring at Moon Prep, Chris is currently a graduate student at New Mexico State University where he is obtaining an MA in Education. Outside of graduate study, Chris is an active academic tutor in the Las Cruces area where he plans engaging lessons, assists students through papers, research, and test prep, and helps students improve their academic performance with tailored academic strategies. A champion of education and learning, Chris also supports Las Cruces Public Schools as a substitute teacher, executing lesson plans, working with students across a range of learning styles and abilities, and cultivating rapport with parents, teachers, and administrators.

Previously, Chris was a school application specialist where he engaged students on applications and educational program structures, guided applicants through the admissions process, and provided parents with insights and best practices on college interviews and personal statements. As a senior university adviser, Chris mentored students through the full life cycle of university admissions to U.S. and Canadian schools, guiding them through the initial brainstorming of essays, formatting, and submissions. He also has years of experience proofreading for a major publication agency. By combining his passion for education and his command of professional writing skills, Chris brings experience and balance to the writing process. Chris, above all, always strives to establish a trusting relationship with his students so they can enjoy the process of writing honest and distinctive personal statements.
