Bio:
A counselor with Moon Prep, Alix brings experience and one-on-one mentorship to her students, partnering with them to create impressive resumes, build balanced college lists, develop strong applications, and craft impactful personal statements that leave a lasting impression on admission committees. As an experienced and enthusiastic counselor, Alix has a tremendous passion for helping her students find a university that is a perfect match for their academic strengths and professional goals. She stays up-to-date on new trends and her strong communication skills and positive energy help to make an otherwise tedious process a pleasurable experience for students and their families. From the complexities of choosing a college to navigating the requirements and deadlines of the admissions process, she guides students at every turn, ultimately positioning them for successful admission at BS/MD and traditional four-year programs.

Alix has held the role of school and college counselor at a college preparatory school, where she helped students identify “right-fit” universities based on interests, geography, athletics, and career goals. Alongside her counseling staff, Alix encourages students to reach their full potential by developing critical thinking skills, effective communication abilities, and competitive test scores. Alix has gained crucial insights for her students at Moon Prep across various academic interests and professional paths in this environment of daily student engagement and close-knit counseling around college admissions. She uses these insights to help her students pursue meaningful extracurricular activities that align with their college goals.

Prior to Moon Prep, Alix served for over ten years as the IB Trained Director of College Counseling at an elite International Baccalaureate boarding school in Florida. In that role, she provided PK3-12 students with academic, career, and college guidance rooted in constructive philosophies on a daily basis. One such philosophy is the belief that the advising process should enable students to make positive academic choices within the context of forward-thinking planning where interests, possible career choices, and personal fulfillment are carefully considered. Alix is active in the college counseling field and is currently a member of several professional organizations, such as the National Association for College Admissions Counseling, the Southern Association for College Admissions Counseling, and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars NY.
