In addition to his SAT/ACT tutoring experience, Alex brings over 10 years of college counseling experience helping international students navigate the complexities of admission to their dream schools in the US and UK. As a Psychology graduate from UCLA, he brings a strong understanding of student development and a personalized, empathetic approach to navigating the college admissions process. Alex understands that every student is different, and he is passionate about helping students identify their strengths, clarify their goals, and develop a thoughtful, authentic strategy for presenting themselves to colleges.

Alex’s approach combines a deep understanding of the psychology behind the admissions process with practical, real-world guidance. He works closely with students to make the more challenging aspects of college admissions feel manageable, reduce stress and uncertainty, and keep students motivated throughout the process. From developing an individualized college list and shaping a compelling application strategy to helping students communicate their unique story and strengths, Alex provides thoughtful guidance while empowering students to take ownership of their journey.

With more than 30 years of experience in standardized test preparation, Alex also brings a strong understanding of how testing fits into the broader admissions landscape. However, his counseling philosophy extends well beyond test scores. He believes the strongest applications are built by understanding the whole student—their interests, motivations, experiences, and aspirations—and translating those qualities into an authentic and compelling college application. His philosophy is simple: old-school principles, real-world advice, and personalized guidance that helps students move confidently toward their goals.
