Emily guides students and families through the college admissions process with a thoughtful, student-centered approach rooted in clarity, encouragement, and individualized support. She helps students recognize the value of their experiences, shape their application materials with purpose, and move through the process feeling more confident and less overwhelmed.

Bio:
Emily was born and raised in a small Northern California community, where she developed a deep appreciation for connection, service, and the power of strong support systems. She attended the University of California, Santa Cruz, and studied abroad at the University of the West Indies in Barbados during her senior year. While at UC Santa Cruz, Emily worked in the Dean of Students Office and volunteered at a women’s shelter, experiences that deepened her commitment to advocacy and helping others feel seen, heard, and supported.

After graduation, Emily returned to her hometown and began working in social services, where she discovered her passion for helping young people navigate challenges and imagine new possibilities for their futures. Drawn to counseling and student support, she went on to earn her Master’s degree in Counseling and Pupil Personnel Services credential from the University of San Francisco. During that time, she became especially interested in helping students connect their strengths, interests, and goals to meaningful educational opportunities.

Emily has spent almost ten years as a high school counselor, guiding students through important academic, personal, and college-planning decisions. She is especially passionate about the college admissions process and enjoys helping students build confidence, tell their stories, and take purposeful steps toward their futures. Her approach is warm, individualized, and practical, with a focus on making the process feel accessible and empowering for both students and families.
