Bio:
A mentor with Moon Prep, Violet takes a “whole application” approach with her students, working closely with them long-term to plan their high school courses, build out their resumes, and secure passion projects as they prepare applications for their top-choice programs. As an experienced high school counselor, Violet’s goal is to maximize her students’ full potential by guiding them to develop decision-making skills that will empower and shape their academic and professional choices. She is passionate about working one-on-one with her students to carefully guide them through all aspects of the college application process while preparing them for the following stages of their lives.

Alongside her mentoring at Moon Prep, Violet is currently Head of College Counseling at a Charter School in Boston area.. She oversees and leads a team focusing on student academic success, college advising and placement, and career guidance. An alumnus of Brown University, Violet assists part-time as an admissions interviewer, sharing input and feedback with the committee on prospective students. An active professional in the college counseling field, she is a current member of The National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) and The New England Association for College Admission Counseling (NEACAC). A natural mentor, she is eager to impart her counseling expertise to realize her mission of helping students thrive in academic and professional settings.

Previously, Violet worked in admissions coaching, engaging students and their families in the application process, conducting PR and marketing campaigns for aspiring college students and universities, and facilitating cross-cultural communications. She has been working as a research associate at Brown University, where she studied learning development beliefs among children, Americans, and Chinese immigrants across various cultures and ethnic groups.
