Ryan develops strong partnerships with his students to understand their unique needs, challenges, and perspectives throughout the college application process and to help them build a competitive profile. Understanding the difficulties of writer’s block, he is dedicated to helping each student ensure their voice and personality shine through in their essays.

Bio:
Ryan coaches his students through building a strong profile and through the essay writing process for college applications, bridging physical distance by getting to know each student individually. This allows him to provide personalized and specific resume and essay advice, ensuring each student’s profile and narrative arc are authentic. He offers constructive feedback while preserving the student’s ownership of their work. He is also eager to assist with crafting a well-written activities section, advising on how to present experiences and integrate them into essays professionally. Ryan is dedicated to supporting and being a cheerleader for his undergraduate and direct medical students every step of the way. 

Ryan is a rising sophomore student at Brown University in their Program in Liberal Medical Education (PLME). He is studying English and Biology and is in the undergraduate class of 2027. Having personally navigated the rigorous college and BS/MD admissions process, Ryan has gathered unique insights and advice for each student. He understands the value of a mentor during the stressful and busy college application season. With his personal and professional experiences writing and editing essays, Ryan is well-prepared to coach his students in crafting strong profiles and compelling, unique essays that let their personalities and experiences cut through.

Ryan has worked as a hospital and emergency preparedness volunteer, forming partnerships with healthcare professionals and first responders. He has also supported various health advocacy organizations, including the Red Cross and HOSA – Future Health Professionals.
