Akhil, an essay coach with Moon Prep, collaborates closely with his students to cultivate meaningful partnerships. He provides the space and tools necessary for students to freely express their ideas while offering personalized advice and feedback tailored to their specific application needs. Akhil draws from his personal experiences as a medical school student to help students articulate their unique experiences, personal insights, and career aspirations through well-crafted essays and personal statements for traditional and direct medical programs. From initial brainstorming to final draft submission, he remains committed to supporting students throughout their academic, medical, and professional journeys.
In addition to his role at Moon Prep, Akhil is embarking on his medical education journey as an incoming student at the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences. Having successfully navigated the medical school admissions process himself, Akhil brings firsthand knowledge of the application and interview stages. Recognizing the pivotal role of mentorship during this rigorous yearlong process, he enthusiastically assists aspiring BS/MD, BS/DO, and traditional medical students. With expertise in writing, editing, and revising, Akhil leverages his personal and professional experiences to help students craft compelling narratives that authentically showcase their strengths and aspirations.
Akhil’s professional background includes roles as a medical scribe, medical assistant, and research lab assistant (for which his grant proposal won a grant for his lab project). In addition, he has also served as an English essay coach for students in the Tassel School of Cambodia. These experiences have provided him with hands-on exposure to healthcare practices and equipped him with valuable insights into the medical field. He has also played a major role in local volunteering initiatives such as Project Sunshine, Camp Kesem, and Relay for Life.
