Sara nurtures relationships with her students, working with them to leave unwavering impressions when submitting their college applications. Her main goal is for students to not only get into the school of their choice, but to assist them throughout the entire process from admissions to financial aid completion.

Bio:

As a mentor at Moon Prep, Sara collaborates with her students and parents to provide them the necessary space, tools, and guidance to openly share ideas while also offering advice and feedback individualized toward the student’s applications. As a college counselor with a financial aid background, she is passionate about helping students find their niche and figuring out how they can share their own experiences, while also finding the financial packages that the students and parents are looking for. Starting with the first meeting and following the students through until the end when they decide on a final school, Sara is passionate about walking these students through the entire process, from start to finish.

Alongside her mentoring at Moon Prep, Sara has experience as a high school college and career counselor. Her responsibilities include assisting students with personal statements/essays, providing college application assistance, FAFSA completion and financial aid, offering guidance on scholarships, and helping with resume building. Sara also provides guidance on creating timelines, year-by-year, depending on the student’s goals. Each year, she implements a Senior Year Boot Camp, an Employability Skills Day for all students to learn soft skills and interviewing techniques, and an internship program for high school students. Sara has extensive experience in helping students get into a wide range of colleges and universities, including Ivy League and T20 schools.

Prior to working at a high school, Sara was the Assistant Director of Financial Aid at Cincinnati State Technical and Community College, where she also managed their scholarship program. Prior to this, she worked as the Director of Financial Aid at Brown Mackie College in northern Kentucky.
